The designer had a very specific vision and I felt we really achieved it. We had the difficult task of creating a"mudbath" on stage. The theatre had to be protected from all the water and mud, so we essentially had to create a kind of giant slip 'n' slide with a slight barrier around it to prevent the mud spilling out.

After many tests, the mud was achieved inexpensively by using soil, sand and watered down brown paint which was re-hydrated between performances.
